The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is making elaborate arrangements to ensure hassle-free darshans for pilgrims, in view of the auspicious Vaikuntha Ekadashi and New Year’s day which fall on the same day.

Elucidating on the preparations, the authorities said that the TDD was focusing on improving on the available pilgrims’ amenities and arrangements were being made to make ‘Vaikuntha Dwara New Year Darshan’ for common pilgrims easy, according to the directions of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and TTD Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao. “All the darshan tickets have been cancelled, except for the Sarvadarshan tokens, which would be available on January 1,” they said.

“As many as 10,000 tickets (Rs.300) have been made available on the internet, so as to enable the devotees for darshan on the Dwadasi Day, falling on January 2. Besides this, sheds along with mobile toilets have been set up for pilgrims at various points. Plans have been drawn to ensure proper distribution of food, milk and other beverages to devotees,” they said.

The officials also said that a limited number of tickets had been issued for the VIPs according to the protocol and urged them not to seek additional tickets. The officials have made it clear that the accommodation in Padmavathi guest house area would be provided to the VIPs personally, not through reference letters.
