TTD staves off major controversy

Adopting a stubborn stance the TTD management on Friday denied permission to the procession of palanquin by the Sai devotees atop the hill town and staved off a major controversy. The palanquin was used by the devotees to carry the ‘Padukas’ of Sai.

Over 1,200 Sai devotees from Shirdi in Maharastra endeavoured on the task of carrying the palanquin with the ‘padukas’ along the Aipiri footpath. In a quick reaction the TTDs Vigilance and Security sleuths took serious objection to their plans and however permitted them to move ahead leaving behind the ‘padukas’ at Tirupati. The devotees were also cautioned not to observe any kind of procession of Palanquin atop the town.

According to the TTD laws all kinds of processions except those relating to the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara are strictly prohibited atop Tirumala.
