A ‘prabhai’ also referred to as ‘maha thoranam’ to adorn
Namperumal during processions is being made at Srirangam Sri
Ranganathaswamy Temple.
The ‘prabhai’, being made of teakwood, measures 42 inches in height and 20 inches in breadth.
Work
on the ‘prabhai’ commenced a month ago and will be completed before the
forthcoming Vaikunta Ekadasi festival according to sthapathi R.T.
Selvarj. The ‘prabhai’ is being designed in accordance with Vaishnavite
agama stipulations and will reflect the Chola model.
